Care and Maintenance

To protect and care for your memorial, it needs to be maintained regularly.  Please see our suggested care instructions for Bronze and Granite memorials.

Bronze

Your bronze memorial is protected by an exclusive Diamond Shield Protective Coating – the most durable protective coating produced. It was especially formulated for bronze surfaces to guard against industrial and environmental pollutants as well as fertilisers.

While all bronze memorials will patina over time, you can help prolong the finish on your memorial with proper care.

Water and a mild soap/detergent is all that is required for cleaning your memorial. Never use any abrasive cleaning product as this can damage the Diamond Shield Protective surface.

Do not use abrasive cleaners, strong penetrating chemicals, or solvents on your memorial. Oil and wax coatings are not needed.  As your memorial begins to patina over time, it can be restored to its original finish through a refurbishing process. Ask our consultant for details.

Granite

• Abrasive or harsh materials will hasten the removal of gold/silver inscriptions.
• Only use a light detergent /soap and water
• Avoid the use of oils or polish as they soak into the granite.
